Ostopil is a combination of three supplements, namely: Calcium citrate, cholecalciferol, and Folic acid. Ostopil is used to treat calcium and vitamin D deficiency. Calcium makes the bones stronger by increasing their density. It helps in treating and preventing low calcium levels. Cholecalciferol is a form of vitamin D which helps in the absorption of calcium. Folic acid helps in producing and maintaining new blood cells. Together, Ostopil helps in treating and preventing nutritional deficiencies.

Directions for Use

Take Ostopil with or without food. Swallow CCM Tablet 40's as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew or break the tablet. Based on your medical condition, your doctor will decide how long you need to take Ostopil

Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight

Drug Warnings

Do not take Ostopils if you are allergic to any of its contents. Avoid taking Ostopil if you have hypercalcaemia (high level of calcium in the blood), hypercalciuria (excess calcium in the urine), nephrocalcinosis (excess calcium deposition in the kidneys), nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), hypervitaminosis D (excess vitamin D), severe renal impairment or renal failure. Inform your doctor if you have sarcoidosis. Consult your doctor before taking Ostopil if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Ostopil should be given to children only if prescribed by the doctor. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Ostopil Let your doctor know if you are taking prescription, non-prescription drugs, or herbal products before starting Ostopil

Drug-Drug Interactions:

Ostopil may have interaction with anti-epileptic (phenytoin, phenobarbital), thiazide diuretics, corticosteroids, tetracycline/quinolone antibiotics, chelating agent (penicillamine), anti-TB (isoniazid), cardiac glycoside, bisphosphonate, inorganic compound (sodium fluoride), supplements (iron, zinc, strontium ranelate), hormone (levothyroxine), enzyme (glucarpidase), folic acid antagonist (methotrexate, pyrimethamine, triamterene, trimethoprim), and oral contraceptives.

ALCOHOL

Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking CCM Tablet 40's as it might cause folate deficiency.

PREGNANCY

Please consult your doctor before taking CCM Tablet 40's if you are pregnant or if you have any concerns regarding this; your doctor will prescribe only if the benefits outweigh the risks

BREAST FEEDING

Consult your doctor before taking CCM Tablet 40's; your doctor will decide whether CCM Tablet 40's can be taken by breastfeeding mothers or not.

DRIVING

Ostopil is unlikely to affect your ability to drive. However, drive or operate machinery only if you are alert.

LIVER

Please consult your doctor before taking Ostopil if you have a liver impairment or any concerns regarding this.

KIDNEY

Please consult your doctor before taking Ostopil if you have kidney impairment or any concerns regarding this.Ostopil should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Avoid taking Ostopil if you have severe renal impairment.
